As a leader, strategic thinker, and advisor in the global development sector, Savera has facilitated the development and management of multi-sectoral and multi-million-dollar programs involving complex partnerships between governments, non-profit organizations, private sector, and funders. With an M.Sc. in Development Studies from the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE), UK, Savera’s work has involved peace and security, education, employment, entrepreneurship, governance, and global health. Her experience includes working with the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), International Youth Foundation (USA), World Bank, Social Research and Demonstration Corporation (Canada), Aga Khan University, University of Calgary, CANADEM and Cowater International. Her regional expertise includes Africa (north and east), Asia, and the Middle east, with the most recent projects in China, Tanzania, Ethiopia, Kenya, India, Pakistan, Libya, Jordan, and Mexico. Savera has significant experience and knowledge of applying global development alliance, appreciative inquiry, and organizational capacity-building approaches towards youth education and employment programs in countries facing complex emergencies.
