Position: Paid Internship: Advocacy and Project Administration

Contract: part time or full time, depending on the availability of selected candidate

Duration: July 5 – September 30, 2021

Position Description
Advocacy: 

  • Develop and maintain coordination files tracking advocacy activities undertaken by various stakeholders 
  • Undertake donor support activities
  • Conduct background research on the current and recommended sanctions systems as they relate to sanctions on the Taliban 
  • Research and prepare new fact sheets and update existing fact sheets 
  • Support the development of advocacy communication strategies, following principles of social and behaviour change methods, by researching different options for advocacy strategies (e.g. letter writing, media engagement/paid ads, social media, events and campaigns)

GETT Project – Research & Logistics Support: 

  • Research visa requirements for different country options for exposure trip
  • Carry out other project related research tasks as required

Position: Advocacy Specialist

Position Description
The Advocacy Specialist will be a member of CW4WAghan’s Advocacy Committee, and will:
● Make contributions to activities underway by civil society organizations and networks; liaise with diplomatic missions, and the State Ministry of Peace, in support of protecting the rights of Afghan women and girls, particularly educational rights.
● Communicate context, decisions, issues, and progress about the peace negotiations and other peace processes to CW4WAfghan Advocacy Committee, to inform the organization’s efforts to protect the rights of Afghan women and girls.

Position: Senior Manager: Planning and Operations

Reports to: CW4WAfghan-Canada Senior Director
Type: Full-time annual employment position, with initial 3-month probationary period
Due by: Open until position filled

Travel Requirements: Travel by road to project sites by vehicle where accessible, and to other provinces by air travel where
CW4WAfghan operates. Occasional travel to Canada and other international locations may be required.

Position Description
The Senior manager will

  • Take the lead management role
    over human resources, operations and planning.
  • Help ensure the success of CW4WAfghan programs
    through skilled and active management of CW4WAfghan’s education projects portfolio, by working constructively and proactively
    with CW4WAfghan project teams to lead, inspire and deliver results for beneficiaries.
  • Represent
    CW4WAfghan in meetings with key stakeholders such as government ministries, donors and project partners.
  • Possess the following qualities: exceptional work ethic, proven management skills, and excellent
    communication and facilitation skills.
